New York punk trio, THICK masters the art of brutal honesty disguised within optimistic, intoxicating punk songs. Happy Now, THICK’s sophomore album, is a confessional “exploring everything from self-sabotage and insecurity to victim-blaming and destructive relationships.” The themes explored resonate deeply within listeners, bringing to the surface buried emotions that are at once debilitating and freeing. THICK’s collaborative songwriting is evident in the array of experiences detailed in this album. As a special guest, Oklahoma punk rock/indie pop trio Skating Polly bring their creative yet refined sounds to the stage. The night’s other special guest, queer Minneapolis-based band, VIAL’s alt/indie songs encompass everything on the spectrum from rage at Trump and the Supreme Court to queer love songs that give you butterflies.
