The Shins at the Orpheum

SAT. 9/10 8 PM. $40-104.

After 28 years of playing and performing, The Shins have earned the right to a proper birthday party. That’s what they’re calling their tour, anyway, which commemorates 21 years since the debut of Oh Inverted World, the album that catapulted both The Shins and the genre of indie rock into worldwide recognition. Since then the band has consistently turned out albums that capture their signature melancholy vibe and feature vividly visual lyrics. The folk-rock band Joseph, a trio of siren-sisters with achingly beautiful voices out of Portland, opens. Rumor has it they will collaborate with The Shins on stage for a few songs.
