While it’s often called out as a genre full of misogyny, horror has also created the space for women with strong roles and the opportunity to steal scenes. This spooky season, the Trylon is giving these scream queens their time on the silver screen. This series will include eight films spanning multiple film movements, including Il Demonio (1963), The Whip and the Body (1963), Suspiria (1977), Phantom of the Paradise (1974), The Return of the Living Dead (1985), Night of the Demons (1988), Road Games (1981), and Prom Night (1980). From facing down demonic possession to staring down a slasher, these movies will make you scream all October long.
