Juliet Garrett + Bathtub Cig

Singer-songwriter Juliet Garrett’s music is “a remedy for the soul” (Camden Live). Raised on Shelter Island, NY, and based in Brooklyn, Juliet has performed across Europe from London to Berlin, Amsterdam to Malmo. She currently hosts a monthly Songwriter’s Night at Rockwood Music Hall in NY (her favorite venue), as well as being in residency there the first Tuesday of every month. During the pandemic, she remained active—performing livestreams and virtual benefit festivals, appearing on tastemaker Annie O’s music series, and releasing her first EP, “Corners of Pretend” (recorded before lockdown in London). bathtub cig is the Minneapolis based “depression pop” project of Hilary James. Her new full length “night blindness” puts a positive sonic spin on lyrically-challenging songs that deal with depression, anxiety and other hard mental health issues. The resulting product is an incongruously joyous record that allows the listener to celebrate along with the difficulties and nuances of life- reveling in the fact that we often are able to find ourselves at a higher point after crawling out of the dust. TUES, 8 PM. $10 adv, $15 door.
