Art scene regulars know Russ White’s work as editor of the indispensable MPLSart.com, and here’s a chance for artists and art fans to take in his own showcase while helping creative collective JOYCE also celebrate their anniversary. Harder Not Smarder showcases colored pencil drawings, hand-cut collages, screenprint editions, and a sculptural installation from White, and highlight’s White’s style in using faces and bodies to visualize larger issues such as identity, sexuality, spirituality, social systems, and even the physics of the known universe. Attendees should bring a vinyl album to contribute to the Joyce collection in order to participate in the JOYCE x Russ White art raffle—and bring cash for the party’s curated shop.
