AfroBlu Art of Ron Brown

THURS. 9/8 4-9:30 PM. Free.

Mixing bold lines, engrossing colors, and figures and facial features that represent the African diaspora in some way, literal shape or form, Rob Brown’s artwork is already unapologetically Afrocentric: “My art is my sword and my tongue is my shield,” he says. Even moreso, his new AfroBlu art, an ‘art through healing’ event evoking emotional conversations affecting the POC of Minnesota at WALRUS gallery, was created on refurbished wood from the George Floyd uprising. Attendees are encouraged to wear blue.
