Celebrating the release of headliner WHY NOT’s self-titled album and supported by Papa Mbye, Dad Bod and Huhroon, this bill is stacked with some of the most exciting, up-and-coming names in the Twin Cities music scene. Top to bottom: Formed at St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Arts, WHY NOT mixes together punk, jazz and pop to create loud, dynamic shows; Papa Mbye, after making a statement at First Avenue’s Best New Bands of 2021, creates genre-bending rap built off of his west African roots and Minneapolis hip-hop influences; Dad Bod’s soft indie rock sound shares vulnerable lyrics amidst driving guitar; Huhroon rounds out this locally-powered bill with spoken word-influenced rap.
