Originally from Wales, Thomas Abban moved to Minneapolis as a child where he has blossomed into a masterful songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His angelic falsetto floats over a soundscape often chock-full of drama and urgency; it is a sound that blends psychedelic oomph with bluesy meditation. In addition to his musical sensibility—he recently released his enigmatic new EP Deep Winter— Abban has proven to be a compelling visual artist through the various music videos accompanying his singles. As a multi-faceted creator, the “visionary pop shaman,” as labeled by the Dakota, will put on a show that is both aurally and visually stimulating. Allie McIntosh opens.
