Come see “a musical about what to do when sh*t happens.” This is the premise of Again, a new musical from local Hmong-American playwright Katie Ka Vang and New York-based and Montreal-based Melissa Li. It follows two women and their intersecting and diverging struggles with cancer. The play reflects the unpredictable paths cancer diagnoses can take as well as the resilience, sense of humor, and vulnerability that shapes those on the journey, while expanding common musical constructs with its unlikely plot and cast of Hmong American leads.
