What does it mean to be a mother? What feelings go into the experience? How do those feelings change over time? Artist Cory Favre is attempting to answer questions like these through her latest project, The Thick of It. Using bright colors and vibrant imagery, Favre explores themes like pregnancy, postpartum depression, and the overwhelming love from mother to child. Her art incorporates humor and playfulness, investigating the duality of the experience of motherhood and allowing visitors to look inward at their own feelings about caring for others. The exhibit opens March 3 and runs through early April.
