This darkly funny story carries strains of the Odd Couple genre: Playwright and poet Jen Silverman presents a naive Iowan who takes on a tenant for some extra dough while recovering from her divorce. Her selected applicant is a queer vegan from New York City, and suffice to say they both have a thing or two to learn from each other as their identities and worlds first conflict and then begin to break down. Directed by Mankato State grad and Twin Cities resident Greta Grosch, the play has been described as ‘Breaking Bad meets Grace and Frankie’ which is more than enough to make us prick our ears. It plays at the Mixed Blood Theater, whose mission to present and represent intersecting identities and abilities will be well reflected. Multiple dates. 7:30 PM. $20-32.
