Arts & Culture scenes are made by the people who, well, make them. And this year seems like we’ve been paying too many tributes to folks who are no longer with us. Few people have been as essential to our blooming food scene as Jack Reibel. He was the executive chef at The Lexington after a diverse career that made places like La Bell Vie, Butcher & The Boar, The Dakota, and others into important food destinations. Hard not to get a little teary watching DeRusha’s interview with him. Then this week we also lost Brother Jules, who many know as a KMOJ personality along with his history as Prince’s Club DJ. We hope to, moving forward in 2022, pay tribute to the folks who are making things happen here while they’re still making things happen.
