TUES. 8/16 7 PM. Free.
In celebration of their national recognition in poetry, Talk of the Stacks welcomes Diane Seuss and Mai Der Vang. Seuss won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for frank: sonnets, her autobiography detailing her working-class childhood in Michigan to her time in New York City and back which is told through sonnets. In Vang’s poetry collection, Yellow Rain, for which she was a Pulitzer finalist, she looks back at the wrongdoing of the U.S. towards Hmong refugees after the Vietnam war, and the importance of marginalized groups having access to truth. Listen to the authors in conversation with Jeff Shots, Graywolf Executive Editor, in this virtual event.
