THURS 8/18 7:30-10 PM. Free. All ages.
This picnic-perfect event pairs local music with silent films from the Walker’s experimental film collection Moving Image, and the August chapter presents works of primarily women filmmakers who hail from Ukraine, Minneapolis, New York, Iraq, and more. The Current’s Diane Miller kicks the evening off with a DJ set while attendees can settle in and grab sups and sips from on-site food trucks and the Walker’s charming bar-restaurant, Cardamom. For the main event, Pieta Brown, an indie rock singer-songerwriter who graces the Twin Cities with her soulful sound from time to time, offers the soundtrack to the evening’s film selections, which explore topics of landscape, place and change.
