SOLO is a celebration of the extraordinary Minnesota dancers awarded the McKnight Dancer Fellowship. The Cowles Center commissions solo dances from each recipient, allowing them to work with a choreographer of their choice. Choreographers from around the world work with the McKnight dance fellow to create performances unique to each dancer. This freedom means that numerous styles of dance are represented within each cohort. Styles range from hip hop to contemporary to classical and more. This year, SOLO will feature McKnight dancer fellows from 2020 and 2021, promising double the number of performances as expected in a typical year.
