Sally & Tom at the Guthrie

SAT. 10/1 1 PM or 7:30 PM. $20-79. All ages.

Make plans to head to the Guthrie Theater for the world premier of the groundbreaking play Sally and Tom by playwright Suzan Lori-Parks. Set in 1790, the play follows founding father Thomas Jefferson as he returns to his Monticello home after three years in Paris and begins his (it feels inappropriate to call it a) relationship with his slave, Sally Hemings. By combining American history and theater, Parks’ play highlights the difference between the late 1700s and today, while highlighting the way that the past always collides with the present. This play will run from October 1 through November 6.
