Mitski at Surly Festival Field

THURS. 7/14 7 PM. $50. All ages.

For those of you kicking yourselves for missing Mitski’s February visit (raises hand), the wild-child-meets-loner indie pop star is back to kick off the concert season at Surly Festival Field. Mitski’s latest album, Laurel Hill, matches her earlier works in depth of intensity and tempestuous melodies, with tracks that examine her career and life trajectory alongside the forlorn love stories she is so adept at laying bare. The singer originally planned to leave music in 2019, but a contract requirement to make one last album that has catapulted her into a grand tour–whether this is a final tour or will inspire her to new creative avenues remains to be seen. Indigo de Souza opens.
