A relaxed, muffled sigh could be heard throughout the country when Adult Swim canceled cult show Joe Pera Talks With You. The comedy show version of ‘slow TV’ helmed by Pera’s aw-gee-shucks-style mixed folksy delivery with wildly cerebral deep cuts for one of the funniest shows of the past several years, which surprised none of Pera’s stand-up fans. And those fans have bought up most of the tickets to see him and whatever sensible sweater he’s bringing to his two early shows at the Varsity Theater, but a few still remain for a highlight of the summer comedy calendar.
