Ginger Root’s Cameron Lew last played for a Minneapolis crowd in early May, where he hyped up the crowd before hometown heroes Hippo Campus took the Armory stage. He easily commandeered the huge crowd and concert hall with his laid back conversation and bright music. Lew calls his sounds “aggressive elevator music,” and that fits in the best way possible. His chill, groovy, atmospheric music sets the scene for hobnobbing with a debonair, well dressed crowd. Should be fun seeing his energy transform the crowd in a smaller venue. He’s joined by King Peri, a lo-fi, groovy, good time of a project from Minneapolis’ own Cameron Kinghorn and Joe Paris Christensen.
