Under The Canopy’s urban outdoor concert series continues with a bang! Literally, the Flamin’ Oh’s perform with guest Annie and the Bang Bang. The Flamin’ Oh’s are a Twin Cities rock and roll fixture, renowned for energetic performances and their classic take on old-school. Their extensive discography ranges from the group’s debut to the Minnesota music scene in 1978 to their newest release, Paint the Sky, in 2016. The Flamin’ Oh’s were one of the earliest bands to film music videos, beginning with ‘I Remember Romance’ from their first EP. The music video went on to run on MTV, garnering national attention for the band. Guest performers Annie and the Bang Bang, share similar roots: A rock band hailing from Minneapolis, Annie and the Bang Bang have entranced the Minnesota music scene with their genre-bending blend of “dreamy folk pop to swampy psychedelic grooves to a grunge-meets-classic-rock vibe.” Their most recent album, WALKIE TALKIE, lives up to the hype, reflecting on the isolation and fear caused by the pandemic without losing their signature sound.
