Etran de L’aïr

Translating to “the Stars of the Air,” Etran de L’aïr come to the Turf Club tonight from their hometown of Agadez in Northern Niger. The family band (consisting of brothers and cousins) makes a brand of “desert blues” that fuses electric guitars with social function, from weddings to political events to baptisms. Their most recent album was named for their hometown, the “capital city of Saharan rock.” The Twin Cities’ own Douala Soul Collective will have tunes going as you walk in the door.
