EELS

Eels ride the Lockdown Hurricane tour tonight to First Avenue. Named for a song from their 2014 album, the name is apt for a whirlwind tour in the post-quarantine era of live music. “E” (aka Mark Oliver Everett), blew the collective minds of the music world several years back at a show at St. Paul’s Fitzgerald Theater when he brought surprise guest, friend, and Eels fan Steve Perry (yes, that one) out for an encore, Perry’s first onstage appearance in ages. More recently, the original lineup of the band reunited onstage for the first time in 25 years for a few songs. Don’t necessarily expect a earth-shaking surprise tonight, but rather, we’ll let the man speak for himself: “The world is going nuts. But if you look for it, there is still great beauty to be found. Sometimes you don’t even have to look for it. Other times you have to try to make it yourself.” TUES 6/20 8 PM, $35, 18+
