If you heard ‘I’m Shipping Up to Boston’ and thought that was the extent of the Dropkick Murphys, you’d be dead wrong. The American-Celtic punk band is back in Minneapolis to rage at the State Theatre (their first time playing in a reserved seating setting) on their This Machine… Theater Tour. Their latest release pays homage to the signature statement of 1940s singer-songwriter Woody Guthrie with the title This Machine Still Kills Fascists. Over 10 songs, the Dropkick Murphys take Guthrie’s statements and commentary on life and give them new relevance in the modern world. And, the band will be without their signature wailing electric guitars or a single amplifier, making it an acoustic performance to remember.
