Every time California’s Deafheaven releases a swirling, grandiose record it lands near the top of Best Metal of the Year lists, but the range and execution of last year’s Infinite Granite took even fans and critics by surprise. While there’s an extra helping of falsettos, whispers, and multi-part harmonies, there’s still enough other adventurous vocal treatments to blow away their ‘blackgaze’ hipster metal fan base. Expect them to shake the walls at the Fine Line with Holy Fawn, and be sure to show up in time to catch the ferociously beautiful music of multi-instrumentalist Madeline Johnston. TUES, 8:30 PM. $23-38. 18+.
