Thirteen years in and the weekly screenings that make up the annual Cuban Film Festival continue to deliver beautiful, thought- and laugh-provoking cinema programming. This year’s lineup, from a young Cuban searches Miami for his long-absent father to legendary Cuban folk singer Silvio Rodríguez touring of 60 of the poorest barrios in the country to a tense stand-off Cuban troops and counter-revolutionary forces in Angola, The Minnesota Cuba Committee and the Cuban Film Institute have delivered another set of grand selections for lovers of the country, of its people, and of fantastic films. Head to the MSP Film Society at the Main to catch this week’s screening, Volverán los abrazos (I’ll Hug You Again), about stories of Cuban doctors who have fought the pandemic since the first coronavirus case was announced in Cuba.
