Several notable orgs from around the Twin Towns—Pillsbury House + Theatre, Pangea World Theater, Walker Art Center, and Danspace Project—have been collaborating to support visionary Black Dance Artist Leslie Parker in her multi-year body of work titled Call to Remember. Now, as part of the collaboration, Pillsbury House and Theatre and Pangea World Theater present the exciting The Black Dance Improvisation Festival; six dancers and DJ Queen Drea bring Leslie Parker’s mission to “celebrate and bring more artists into the practice of Black Dance Improvisation and to conjure ‘Black Space,’ liberated creative space centering Black freedom and Black joy” to the stage for Minneapolis-St. Paul dance fans.
