What a delightful pairing this is: Toronto-based Broken Social Scene, beloved for their hazy, introspective sounds, are joined by the yearning, atmospheric Poliça. Broken Social Scene’s visit to the Palace celebrates 20 years since the release of their seminal You Forgot It In People—plus, their latest album dropped in early 2022 and has been termed a retrospective in of itself, with melodies and rhythms that pay homage to their earlier work. Poliça, too, has a new album—the first since frontwomen Channy Leaneagh’s full recovery from a broken back. It’s a homecoming of sorts for both artists.
