Widely considered a feminist icon, DiFranco gained prominence for creating her own record label, Righteous Babe, in 1990, where she creates music that embraces punk, hip hop, jass, soul, electronica, and more. Her rhythmic and poetic lyrics encompass a wide variety of autobiographical and political themes, such as gun violence, racism, sexuality, reproductive rights, and more. She’ll be joined onstage by singer-songwriter-guitarist Peter Mulvey and strings/vocal duo Monique Ross and Chauntee Ross of SistaStrings.
