Brought to you by some of the minds behind the dependably wonderful Franconia Sculpture Park, 4Ground is a multi-state event raising awareness of “site-specific land art.” That term covers a wide range, from new ecologically themed sculptures at Franconia to water-offering ceremonies at Belwin Conservancy to artwork made from repurposed plastic around Fergus Falls. With exhibits taking place in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota in both rural and urban settings, the inaugural Midwest Land Art Biennial looks to be one of the more ambitious, large-scale arts functions to hit the area in a good while. It’s also as good an excuse as any for Twin Cities art lovers to plan a summer day trip or two. Runs June through August. SAT, 1-9:30 PM. Free.
