“Eastern Europe, very dark stuff” quipped singer Sebastian Murphy to a who’s who of the local music when the Swedish post-punk phenoms Viagra Boys played up close at the 7th St Entry. Murphy, shirtless and covered in his own beer halfway through the blistering set of gritty dance tracks with insanely serious lyrics like “Cigarette (Wiener dog)/ Getting high in the morning/ Buying things off the internet/ Sports” from the song “Sports”, also smiled and grabbed his crotch when someone in the crowd offered him up some little blue pills. The Boys will still be up close when they return, but bring their intense hijinx to Amsterdam Bar & Hall. SAT, 9 PM. $18 adv, $20 door. 18+.
