Streets of Fire

A rock n’ roll neo-western set somewhere between the 1950s and 1980s, Streets of Fire finds master director Walter Hill inking the live action comic book of his dreams. When pop starlet Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) is kidnapped by street tough Raven (a demonically handsome Willem Dafoe), local hero Tom Cody (Michael Paré) is enlisted to bring his ex-girlfriend back. Featuring a wall-to-wall power ballad and synth-heavy soundtrack and familiar faces like Rick Moranis, Bill Paxton, and Fear’s Lee Ving, see the triumphant rock opera how it should be seen: big and loud. At the Alamo Drafthouse. TUES, 6:30 PM. $10.
