Summertime in Lowertown is a vibe like no other. Just around the corner from Mears Park and down the street from CHS Field, you’ll find Dark Horse Bar and Eatery for all your patio needs. Often dog-friendly (check for hours) and with its own bar, the patio is the perfect spot to unwind after work or hit up before or after a Saints game.
An excellent happy hour menu runs Sunday to Thursday from 3-5 (the wings and pulled pork sliders are a great bet, as is the astonishing whiskey collection) and while the bar and restaurant has become an occasional music venue, don’t count the patio out, as they’ll be hosting the Traveling Trash Film Patio Show on June 14!
As a bonus, be sure to peruse the interior on your way out to the patio, as it serves as a Twin Cities Rock ‘n’ Roll museum. Dozens of framed show posters adorn the walls alongside the signs from the Triple Rock and Uptown Bar, as well as the stage gate from the Uptown and yes, the Colt 45 ad with Billy Dee Williams from the Triple Rock.
