Rhayne Vermette (see Ste. Anne from Thursday above) references Wim Wenders’s Paris, Texas as an artistic influence on the making of her feature film, Ste. Anne. With similar themes of reconnections and severed family ties, Vermette’s and Wenders’s films are both moving character studies which unfold in striking landscapes. A recent restoration of Wenders’s time-weaving road trip through the American West plays as a choice companion screening for the weekend. FRI-SAT, 7 PM. $12.
