An Evening of Circus Arts & Storytelling

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month comes An Evening of Circus Arts & Storytelling. The historic Aria serves as a beautiful backdrop to what’s described as a “love letter in motion.” Created by Sherry Walling and Lynn Lunny, two artists who lost their brothers to suicide, this intimate performance uses aerial fabrics, lyra, trapeze, fire, rope and cyr wheels to illustrate all the parts of mental illness—from sadness and strife to moments of love and happiness. While circuses are usually harbingers of joy, Walling and Lunny take aspects of the art form like strength and flexibility to further bolster their message. Ten percent of ticket sales go towards The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Minnesota (NAMI MN). THURS, 7:30 PM. $55.
