Whoever thought ska was dead clearly doesn’t know about this Halloweekend at the Turf Club. A huge bill of some of the most fun ska bands in the region will be coming together to celebrate the holiday. Sourced from the Twin Cities, Goodbye Mordecai specializes in indie-punk/ska and features dueling vocalists. Courtesy of Tim is a six-piece band out of Wisconsin that identifies as a ska band, but is influenced by prog, emo, and jazz. Runaway Ricochet blends classic Jamaican ska and Minneapolis punk to create a sound all their own. Fresh off a new LP, the Prizefighters are bringing the classic 1960s dancehall ska sound. Finally, local favorites Space Monkey Mafia bring the energy with high-powered horn-driven rock sound.
